The days that I have too much to do, I want to say
slow down Charlie Brown
get your slack off my back
but days like today when all I do
is disheslaundrysweepmakebedscleanbathrooms
I feel like the house
is my shell
and I'm slow to come out.

Days run together and I forget
how it is to run apart,
which is what I'm learning to do.
